The Devizes constituency has one major claim to fame this election - it is one of only two being contested by the Libertarian party.

The party has only been in existence for three years and it has only put up candidates in Devizes and Sutton and Cheam, just outside London.

The Devizes candidate is Nic Coome. He said: "I came across it on the Web two years ago and was immediately interested as it encapsulated my views.

"Because we don't have many people on the ground we have concentrated on leafleting."

Mr Coome's election agent, Andrew Withers, added: "We would only have a chance if proportional representation came in. If the Liberal Democrats have no chance, and 10,000 people in marginal constituencies can decide this election, what does that say about democracy?"
