JUDO
CARL Tucker, of Devizes Budo Club, won a bronze medal for Great Britain when he represented his country at an international tournament in Venray, Holland at the weekend.
Steven Edwards and Tom Reed, also memb ers of the British team achieved fifth places.
Other members of the club were also in action when they competed at the Surrey Open which was held at Crystal Palace in London. The medalists were as follows:
In the yellow and white belt category, Sarah Ryder under 28kgs, gold: Abigail Giles, under 28kgs, bronze; Charlotte Giles, under 28kgs, bronze; Kevin Ottaway, under 30kgs, bronze; Steven Ottaway, under 50kgs, silver.
In the orange and green belt category, Abigail Dempsey, O61kgs, bronze; Douglas Dickson, under 34kgs, bronze; Lee Pitman, under 38kgs, bronze.
In the blue and brown belt category, Hamish Devon, under 42kgs, bronze; Holly Devon, under 50kgs, silver; Jason Parsons, under 50kgs, bronze.
Steven Edwards represented Great Britain at a large international tournament on the Dutch/German broder this weekend, where players from over 22 countries competed this year. Still on winning form he took the bronze medal in the young men under 20 category.
