AN open letter to our illustrious council: Thank you for being honest and admitting your mistake over Gorse Hill's crossroad.
This is one of the most dangerous crossings I've ever seen. It is only due to the alertness and competence of the much-maligned motorist that there haven't been more severe accidents.
May I make a further suggestion? Continue the metal fences down to the existing pedestrian crossings, just like those in the middle of Swindon. This will make things safer for pedestrians by taking them away from the corners of the crossroads.
And to finish, next time please ask the locals what they think! This would save an awful lot of our money.
We are intelligent and we do know what we want.
