Supermarine gained a vital victory in the dying seconds of the game.

Marine continued their attacking style rugby and remained in the opposition's half. Only good defence from the Bath backs stopped Marine from scoring.

Marine pushed forward on another attack and were awarded a penalty five metres out. This was taken quickly by stand in scrum half Martin White who dived over for the first try of the game.

The try seemed to shake the Bath team into life and they attacked straight from the kick off.

Good tackling by young full back James Massom stopped the initial attack, but further sloppy defending allowed the Bath side in to score in the corner. Marine heads dropped and a wayward pass was intercepted by the Bath centre, who ran in a try from the half way line as soon as the game restarted. This was converted.

Half time came and coach Steve Bartlett introduced prop Nigel Harper to add further stability to the scrum. Stand in scrum half Martin White had to leave the pitch through injury and was replaced by the versatile Tim Gallimore.

Marine began to take control of the game through the forwards and good runs by Nick Moulden, Tony Kitchen and Simon Park made sure that the backs had good ball to work with. Marine began to dominate the game and won balls against the head at scrums and in the line out.

The continued pressure on the Bath defence allowed James Titcombe the space to evade three tackles and waltz his way in for his first try since his return from Australia. This was converted by Richard McEwen.

Marine now began to play with the confidence that saw them beat Colerne the previous week, with seconds remaining and the game tied at 12 all, the inspirational figure of Mark Sheppard ripped open the Bath defence to score at the death and give Marine another victory.

Marine are away to Marlborough on Saturday, kick-off at 2.30pm.
