ANTOINE Van Der Linden said he was disappointed to be the only name on the Town scoresheet.

The Dutch central defender said he felt Town should have made more of chances created in the first half.

"I suppose we are reasonably happy with a point but I think we should have made more of the ball when it was cut back into the box," he said.

"Michael Reddy must have reached the line about five or six times but there was no-one there to finish off the move with a goal.

"We were a bit unlucky I suppose but Michael is so fast it's difficult to keep up with him.

"If you look at it another way though we are still unbeaten after three games and we must look to build on that."

While delighted to put the ball in the net at the other end Van Der Linden was just as pleased with the defensive display.

"I think we defended well and Mildy made some good saves in the game.

"I really don't know what happened in the second half. We had played some excellent football in the first.

"There seemed to be a few incidents and I looked around and a few players seemed to be about to lose control. We stopped playing football and made it more difficult for ourselves."

The defender admitted the state of the pitch had not helped Town's cause but said it was not the first dubious surface the side had been forced to play on this season.

However, the Dutchman believes better times are ahead.

"I believe we have got a good side here. We are not there yet but I think we are starting to turn it around."

The central defender said confidence in the Town camp was growing with every training session and every game.

The summer signing praised the Town fans for their support at the Racecourse Ground and hoped the extension of an unbeaten run would tempt a few more back to the County Ground.

"The fans have been brilliant all the way through. They want to see a team that is winning games which is understandable."
