KELLY Scutts' admiration for comedian Dave Gorman led to her changing her name.

Dave Gorman the comedian set off on an epic journey around the world two years ago in a bid to meet other people who share his moniker.

After seeing the comic in a show in Edinburgh and London, Kelly was touched by his mission.

So she changed her name by deed poll to Dave Gorman and the 23-year-old is now known by friends as Kelly Dave.

But for the fun-loving Swindon girl, changing her name was not a life-changing decision.

"He is a very passionate speaker," she said. "And his show is very funny."

"It is just a bit of fun, but it was good to be a part of the quest."

The comedian explained he was a few people short of meeting the 50 Dave Gormans he was hoping to meet on his journey when Kelly went to see him perform at a London comedy show in October last year. He asked the audience if anyone was willing to change their name. Kelly went to meet him after the show and said she would change her name to help him complete the quest.

She went to a London solicitors, run by a Mr Gorman, to officially change her name.

Kelly got to meet another 49 Dave Gorman's at a party in London in October.
