ANTOINE Van Der Linden is confident Town can beat Southend United providing someone gives him directions to the ground.

The 24-year-old is looking forward to this evening's game even if he has no idea where he is going.

The Dutchman said: "Every club is new to me except those in the Premier League. It is important to treat every team with respect. I know they are in the division below us and we will go there determined to win."

Van Der Linden is unsure whether he will be up front or back in defence, having played in both roles against Bristol City on Saturday.

"I don't mind where I play as long as I'm out there on the pitch," he said.

Keith O'Halloran was the acting skipper on Saturday, a role he may be asked to perform again in the continued absence of the suspended Alan Reeves.

He said: "The LDV is a bonus and league points remain the priority.

"Southend will be a tricky tie for us. It's a long way and we are not too sure about the way they play. But we are determined to keep our unbeaten run going.

"I am just really pleased that everyone has smiles on their faces again."

Midfielder David Duke also believes it is vital to keep up the good form.

He said: "When you are on a winning run, you want the games to keep it going. Let's hope we can progress further in this LDV trophy and to keep the confidence high at the club."
