ANTOINE Van Der Linden is hoping a week of shooting practise with his right foot will help secure the points at Wycombe tomorrow.

The Dutchman had a late chance to rescue a point for Town on Easter Monday but skied a close range effort over the bar with just two minutes left.

Van Der Linden is a predominantly left-footed player but has been working hard to try and balance things up.

He said: "Against Notts County the ball came on my right foot and I just shanked it over the bar.

"I have spent the week working on my right foot and we have talked about different game situations.

"We know we have to turn things around quickly. But I think we have the ability to go to Wycombe and get a result."

The Dutchman believes the rub of the green has deserted Town's players just when they need it most.

"You only had to look at the way the winning goal went in on Monday but it is important we put that behind us and keep going."

Van Der Linden found himself utilised as an emergency striker again against Notts County, not the first time he has been thrust into the role.

He opened his Town account while playing as a striker during February's 1-1 draw at Wrexham.

"I was brought to Swindon as a defender but I don't mind playing up front," he said.

I have played wherever the gaffer has asked me to and I will do that for the last three matches."
