David Duke felt Hereford had been fortunate to hold a 2-1 half- time lead.

He said: "We got behind them, got crosses in and created chances.

"There's no way we should have been trailing.

"Maybe we could have done better for their second goal but you couldn't do much about the first one.

"Their lad's hit it really well, a cracking strike.

"But we came out for the second half determined.

"We knew we could get at them and the goals would come.

"Personally, I was pleased to see so much of the ball, particularly in the first half.

"But as a team, we showed character and now we can look forward to the third round."

Striker Eric Sabin was pleased with the victory but not too happy that another collection of bruises had not brought him a penalty.

The Frenchman thought he had a legitimate claim for a penalty in the first half and said: "I was angry at the referee but he decided not to give it.

"What can you do?"
