The Swindon franchise for Thrifty Car Rental has been acquired by businessman Chris Renton-Rose, licensee of Thrifty Car Rental in Twickenham.
He is building on his success in the car rental industry by also acquiring the Thrifty franchise for the Newbury territory.
Mr Renton-Rose acquired the Thrifty location Twicken-ham, his first franchise operation, in 1998.
His previous ventures include his role as sales and marketing director for a UK's business travel company for 23 years.
In three years he has built up his fleet from 10 cars to a 120 vehicles from Ford, Vauxhall, Rover, MG and Mercedes.
Models range from small four door hatchbacks to larger models while commercial vehicles range from Escort vans to Luton's and 7.5 ton trucks with tail-lifts.
Mr Renton-Rose, together with branch manager Stuart Boyer, is confident the Swindon and Newbury territories will present significant business opportunities in an expanding area.
"The Thrifty site in Swin-don covers a wide area.
"I know that I have the backing of a well-known, established brand, providing me with all the support I need to succeed ," he said.
