HIS Tory supporters and political opponents alike will be wishing Swindon Council leader Mike Bawden well after his disclosure that he is fighting prostate cancer.
He has shown courage in talking about it publicly.
Coun Bawden was fortunate that his condition was diagnosed and treated early.
Hopefully his decision to draw attention to his illness will encourage other men to heed symptoms and seek medical advice immediately if they have even the slightest reason to be concerned.
