YOUNG wizard Harry Potter will make a return visit to Lacock early next year when filming begins for the next blockbuster movie, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

Film maker Warner Brothers is already making plans for next year's production.

Accommodation at Lacock's Red Lion pub has been fully booked for a month.

For landlord Chris Chapell, the return of the film crews is the icing on the cake. Although many Lacock businesses have suffered this year the Red Lion has enjoyed record takings.

And he said they were looking forward to having the film makers in the village.

"It's good fun," he said. "I should imagine if this film goes as well as the first one, they will make all the books into films."

Warner have booked all six rooms at the pub but Mr Chapell declined to say exactly when. He did confirm it would be early in 2002.

A veil of secrecy was drawn over the filming of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone last year, as Warner wanted to make sure the film maintained its fresh and magical aura.

Lacock Abbey featured prominently in the film, with the cloisters used as classrooms where Harry, Hermione and Ron learned magic.

The National Trust village has been used for many film and television productions, including Randall and Hopkirk (deceased).

Other film locations for the first film included Gloucester Cathedral, Alnwick Castle in Northumberland, London Zoo and Australia House on the Strand in London.

The British Tourist Authority has published a guide to Harry Potter tourist sites, including Lacock.
