LOU MACARI brings his Huddersfield Town side to the County Ground on the back of an impressive run.

The Terriers are unbeaten in seven league games and currently sit just outside the play-off places.

It is probably still a shock to the West Yorkshire outfit that they are taking part in tomorrow's fixture at all.

A last day defeat at home to Birmingham, combined with results elsewhere, sent the Terriers crashing through the First Division trap door in May.

But far from going to pieces, Macari's men have regrouped and look well equipped for an immediate return to Division One.

A Kenny Irons goal gave Huddersfield a winning start to the campaign and the Terriers lost just one of their opening seven matches.

October saw a mini-wobble as Macari's men lost three on the trot.

After a 3-2 defeat at QPR, the Terriers went down 2-1 at home to Brighton, former Tranmere man Irons again the scorer. The losing sequence was completed with a 1-0 defeat at Tranmere.

However, this was not the start of a sustained slump.

The Terriers' 'returning hero' saw to that.

Andy Booth rifled in a hat trick at Northampton on October 23 and Macari's men have not looked back since.

Booth started his career with the Terriers before a big money move to Sheffield Wednesday. But he never quite found his scoring touch in the top flight and returned the McAlpine Stadium (after a brief loan spell with Spurs) in March.

The 27-year-old is the Terriers' top scorer with six but hot on his heels is young forward Danny Schofield.

A £2,0000 capture from non-league football, the 21-year-old was a regular in the reserves last year but has now made the first team breakthrough.

He netted both goals in Town's early season 2-0 win over Bury. He also found the net in 1-1 draws at Stoke and Oldham and a 2-1 win at Cardiff.

Leon Knight is another sharp-shooter in the Huddersfield ranks.

The 19-year-old boasts England youth honours and joined the Terriers after a loan spell with QPR.

A striker with electric pace, he has netted three times in the Terriers' last four games.

Chris Hay needs no introduction to Town fans. The Scotsman was a popular figure at the County Ground before his transfer north in March 2000.

The striker has netted twice this season, scoring Town's first in a 2-1 win over Cambridge a fortnight ago.

With experienced campaigners like Adi Moses, Chris Beech, Chris Holland and Simon Baldry also in their squad, Town's strikers will have to be at their sharpest to breach the Terriers' defences.
