THE top-of-the-league clash in the Gloucester County Girls under 16 League saw Chiseldon Girls extend their lead at the top with a 5-0 win over second-placed Downend.
There was little to choose between the two sides in the first half with both keepers playing well.
It took Chiseldon until just before half-time to break the deadlock when Emma Williams opened the scoring.
In the second half, Chiseldon broke down the stubborn Downend defence with four further goals, scored by Natasha Burson (2) Rebecca Poole and Catherine Reid.
With recent wins over third-placed Yate Town Chiseldon now look well placed to retain their third league title in a row.
