POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a young boy claims he was approached by a woman who asked him to get into a car.
The boy, aged nine, told police that at 7.15 on Sunday evening, he was walking along Windsor Road, Swindon, when he was called over by a woman who was driving a silver car, which turned into the road from Queen's Drive.
The boy ran off when the woman asked him to get into the car.
The driver is described as white, slim build with shoulder length blonde hair.
Police spokeswoman Alvina Kumar said: "Officers cannot be sure about this lady's intent. It if was just a case of mistaken identity we would like her to come forward so that she can be elimin-ated from our inquiry."
