POLICE want to speak to a man suspected of trying to trick his way into homes in the Cirencester area.
A man called at two homes in Elizabeth Way, Siddington.
He knocked at the front door of an elderly woman's house and told her she was due a rebate on her electricity due to overhead cables.
The woman shut the door on the man but then saw him walk next door where he spoke to a second elderly woman and asked her if she needed any gardening doing before walking off.
Police said he flashed an ID card at both women but did not let them see it closely.
He is described as white, aged 45 to 50 and around 5ft 10ins tall. He had a round face, was of slim build and is believed to have been wearing a blue sweatshirt and dark trousers.
Police have advised householders to check the identification of unexpected callers or check with the firm the person claims to be from.
