DESIGN student James Boualt has received a top school award for his work promoting an imaginary film about his home village of Keevil.
Ten students from Clarendon School in Trowbridge received prizes for their work on design and technology projects this year.
The ceremony was the culmination of an initiative linking the school and the engineering profession.
A-level student James won the Ringway Parkman award for top design and technology and was presented with his prize by Mike Butterfield, consultancy director at the firm.
Ten engineers from the area were invited to judge 25 projects submitted by students as part of their examination coursework.
They chose a winner and a runner up from each of five categories, which included GCSE, AS and A-level projects.
James, who was named top A-level student, promoted an imaginary film based on wartime events in Keevil. As well as promotional literature, he made a scale model of the village as it was then.
Design and technology teacher Hayden May said: "The awards are just reward for hard work put in by all of the students, the certificates that they receive will be a significant addition to their records of achievement that they can take with them into their future careers."
