NORTH BERKS LEAGUE: DIVISION FOUR Appleton caused the shock of the day as they crushed Coleshill United of Division Two 6-0 in the War Memorial Cup.

Greg Collins (2), Paul Haynes (2), Colin Haynes and Dave Cookson were the Appleton goal heroes.

Kintbury Rangers Reserves came back from two goals down to book their place in the final of the Nairne Paul Cup, beating a gallant A.F.C. Wallingford A side 4-2 after extra-time.

Wallingford looked the better side for long spells and deservedly went ahead through Steve Gesner's fine left-foot finish after 15 minutes. When Gesner doubled the lead in the 65th minute, shooting in from an acute angle, it seemed all over. But barely two minutes later a goalkeeping error let in Matt Mills to score for Rangers and the same player was on hand to tap home the equaliser in the 70th minute.

In extra-time, Craig Angell cracked home a 25-yarder and a twice-taken penalty from Michael Spence sealed the win.

Shrivenham Reserves will meet Kintbury after a 211 win over Warborough Reserves.

In the Charity Shield quarter-finals, East Hendred overcame poor conditions and a determined Benson Lions team 3-1. Drayton lost 4-3 to Lambourn Sports after extra-time.

In the League Cup, Blewbury Reserves overcame Ardington Reserves 2-1 and Marcham Reserves won 4-1 at Benson Reserves.

Grove Ranger's Ben Eltham netted four time as his side saw off the challenge of Steventon by 5-2 in Division Two. Ardington & Lockinge bounced back from last week's defeat to whip Botley United 5-0. Faringdon Town jump three places following a 1-0 win over Harwell Village, thanks to Garry Sutton's finish.

Buckland beat Harwell International Reserves 7-2 in Division Three to maintain their outside promotion chance.
