SCREWFIX ROUND UP: MELKSHAM Town failed to do struggling local rivals Devizes Town a favour as they slumped to a 3-1 reverse at Elmore on Saturday.

The home side began the day just two points ahead of Pete Tripp's side in the table, but were inspired by two fine goals from new boy Steve Blurton.

The frontman opened the scoring with an audacious chip on 25 minutes, and Melksham were thwarted three times by goalkeeper Nathan Murphy as the hosts protected their lead.

Matt Harvey latched onto Blurton's lob to double the Elmore advantage after the break, before Melksham put themselves back in contention through Simon Price.

But the outstanding Blurton had the final say and lashed an unstoppable drive into the corner of the net to seal victory late on.

Mid-table Melksham entertain Odd Down on Saturday.

Westbury United's First Division clash at Bristol Manor Farm fell victim to the wet weekend weather.

Derek Graham's side return to action with a home game against Clyst Rovers on Saturday and have added former Corsham and Calne utility man Craig Tuck to their ranks.
