CHIPPENHAM U15s' second half recovery proved in vain as Oxfordshire County Champions Grove took the honours at Allington Field.
The hosts played into a strong wind in the first half and found themselves trailing by 19 points at the break as Grove ran in three tries.
Chippenham made changes for the second half and some improved play enabled Chippenham number 8, Mike Smith to score the first of his two tries under the posts. Fraser Brown converted.
Brown then crossed the line himself after some sustained pressure from Chippenham, but Grove hit back with a converted score before Smith added his second try of the afternoon.
