SCHOOLS in west Wiltshire have received a cash boost from Wiltshire County Council to build new classrooms.
Westbury Junior School, Shaw Primary School in Melksham and Frogwell Primary School, Chippenham have benefited from a countywide investment to replace 1970s mobile classrooms.
Education planning officer Tom Lindsay said: "The standard of the new buildings is very high and the classrooms have the latest modern designs."
Three new classrooms at Westbury Junior School were opened on Monday by MP Dr Andrew Murrison.
Chair of Governors Terry Clements said: "These new rooms will greatly enhance the learning opportunities for children and teachers."
At Shaw Primary School, work on new classrooms is currently under way.
Headteacher Dave Borrie said: "We are 50 per cent there with the new buildings and it has already made such a difference."
New classrooms at Frogwell school have been built at a cost of £180,000.
