HALESOWEN TOWN are the visitors to Hardenhuish Park tomorrow and Chippenham boss Tommy Saunders is desperate to teach the Midlanders a lesson.

'The Yeltz' have been the scourge of Saunders' team over the past 18 months, after snatching two pieces of silverware from the Wiltshire club's grasp.

Chippenham were 2-1 ahead in the corresponding fixture last year, before Halesowen netted a penalty seven minutes into injury time. That three-point swing proved decisive in the Western Division title race.

Saunders concedes that Halesowen deserved the championship over the course of the season, but a fresh wound was opened by Town's old rivals only last week.

The two sides met in the Dr Martens Cup semi-final, with Chippenham expected to progress against a team that has struggled to adjust to the Premier Division. But a poor display saw Saunders' troops crash 2-1, as another trophy slipped away.

Now Saunders is determined Halesowen will not deprive him of the runners-up prize in the Premier Division.

"We definitely owe them one," said the Chippenham supremo.

"They knocked us out of the cup and that hurt, but to be fair we were poor and they deserved it on the night. We'll be looking to set the record straight, but they've been doing well of late and they hammered Dover 3-0 in mid-week."

Saunders' injury problems have relented, with goalkeeper James Bittner set to return following his bizarre collision with a hockey ball last Saturday.

Matt Rawlins is also fit after recovering from his collision with an iron bar.

CHIPPENHAM'S Wiltshire Premier Shield semi-final with Salisbury has been rearranged for March 25.

Tuesday's original fixture was abandoned when Salisbury's Dean Bowden suffered a double fracture of the leg.
