BRITISH drivers plan to spend more than £50 billion on new and used cars over the next six months, according to a new survey.
Around one in five of the purchases is likely to be made in north-west England, with East Anglians the least likely to splash out on a motor, the survey from Sainsbury's Bank showed.
The bank revealed that 3.86 million intended to buy a used car over the next six months and 1.86 million planned to purchase a new one.
The total spending is likely to be £52 billion, or an average of £8,116 per purchaser.
Based on replies from 2,1023 people, this is the regional breakdown of would-be purchasers including the percentage of the people in any one area planning to buy a car and how much each region intends to pay.
