I WAS interested reading the article on Kemble Aero Museum, especially the photo of a Bristol Brigand aircraft.
This brought memories flooding back of my RAF service at Colerne, from 1955 until 1958. During this period I was based with the ground staff at No 2 Sqdn who operated the aircraft for aircrew training purposes, with two or three sorties most days.
We did, however, experience the loss of one Bristol Brigand and all the crew which crashed in woods approaching the runway on the return flight. The Adver published this tragic event, which I think was probably in 1956.
