WILTSHIRE'S selectors have opted for a team packed with experience for their final Middleton Cup trial this Sunday against Hampshire at Wootton Bassett.

This was to be expected following the two defeats last weekend against Somerset and Oxfordshire when they used nearly 50 bowlers in the first two trials.

The team to face Hampshire contains no fewer than 18 of the 24 players from local clubs.

Westlecot have the highest representation with nine, while Wootton Bassett supply five of the side, Rodbourne Cheney two with lone representatives from Swindon BC and Purton.

This season Wiltshire will not contest the South-West group in the inter-county championships but have been drawn in a South Midlands section.

Wiltshire's Middleton Cup group matches this year will be against Warwickshire at Coventry on June 7, Worcestershire at Kidderminster on June 21 and Herefordshire at home at Wootton Bassett on July 5.

The top side in each of the eight national groups progress to the quarter-finals.
