IN answer to Coun D Benfield's statement that there had not been many complaints to the road calming bumps on the roads in Covingham, he is wrong.

The people who objected are fed-up with everything being boxed up tied with ribbon even before public meetings.

They voted with their feet at the local polls as the Conservative candidate promised to do his best to get rid of the bumps.

As for safety for children it would be better if parents told their offspring how to cross roads and not saunter across junctions in front of traffic as witnessed by myself and other people.
