FOR years it has been fashionable to slate big business, local government and professionals as being cold and distant, divorced from the real world and its problems.
It is therefore fortunate that we have Swindon Cares, a new charity fundraising campaign involving Nationwide, Zurich, GWR Community Trust, the Rotary Club of Swindon, the council and Swindon Chamber of Commerce.
It is also backed by this newspaper and is making our Swindon Cancer Appeal one of its good causes.
