SIGNING in for work means just that to Brenda Fortune, who works at the Regent's Street branch of the Abbey National in Swindon.
A customer adviser for the high street building society, Brenda offers a sign language facility for customers who are deaf.
Said Brenda: "I've been signing for quite a few years now. My ex-husband, who was deaf, taught me to use British Sign Language 20 year ago.
"A lot of the people who come in have commented on how well I sign."
According to Brenda's boss, branch manager Susanna Simpson: "We're delighted to be able to offer this additional service to our customers."
British Sign Language (BSL) is the first or preferred language of nearly 70,000 deaf people in the UK.
