NATIONWIDE maintained their unbeaten leadership of Division One of the Swindon and District Midweek League with a comfortable victory over Castrol.

Nationwide rattled up 185-2 with Chattell making 52 before being run out. Archer ended up 70 not out and was well supported by Tuton also not out on 27. Castrol in reply were never up with the asking rate and ended on 131-8.

At the County Ground, Compton found their winning touch and raced to 135-3 with Baker hitting 53 not out, ably supported by Baden with 33. Wroughton, despite Alleyne's 53 and Gregory's 38 not out could only make 123-3 in reply.

In Division Two, United Churches could not get the better of Nationwide 2nd bowling and reached 98-6, Harman taking 3-23. In reply Nationwide lost Roofe for 44 before Harris guided the visitors to 99- 2 by making 42 not out.

In Division Four L&K Skips were well contained by the Purton bowlers, finishing on 88-6, Wilson top scoring on 36 with Miles taking 3- 20. Purton passed the home score for the loss of two wickets in the 11th over thanks in the main to Colsell, making his debut, who was unbeaten on 52 at the end.

Nine Elms made 96 all out and scraped to a one-run victory over Innogy, who reached 95- 2 with Waygood undefeated on 39.

Purton were put in to bat by Intel, who must have regretted dropping Allen in the first over as he went on to top score on 74 in a total of 143-4. Demaio was 33 not out at the end.

Intel's batting took a knock when Burchell was run out. From there wickets fell steadily with Purton holding some great catches from their youngsters as Intel were all out for 71.
