CHIPPENHAM Town's impressive pre-season form continued as they cruised to a 4-0 win at Screwfix League Elmore on Saturday.

Last season's top scorer Martin Paul marked his first run out of the summer with a goal in each half both well taken one-on-ones.

Triallist Dean Birkby scored Town's second before the break, tapping in a rebound after Matty Rawlins struck a post.

Charlie Griffin, who had missed a succession of chances and hit the bar, completed the scoring from close range.

Devon outfit Elmore rarely troubled a makeshift Bluebirds rearguard which featured full-backs Simon Charity and Wayne Thorne in the centre.

Meanwhile, former Swindon men Chris Collins and Gareth Hall are unlikely to be offered deals at Hardenhuish.

Nineteen-year-old Collins is set to go to university and veteran Hall decided not to make the trip to Elmore.

Goalkeeper James Bittner was also absent, playing in a trial for Yeovil Town.

Town resume their friendly programme at Basingstoke next Saturday.

Former Chippenham assistant Nobby Bush saw his Corsham side upset in their first friendly, losing 2-1 to Trowbridge Town.
