I AM writing in response to your article printed about the Wyvern Theatre on July 12.
The article compared the Swindon venue to the nearby Bristol Hippodrome and Oxford Apollo and said that these larger theatres boast better shows such as Spirit of the Dance, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream-coat and Lee Evans.
I have enjoyed watching Spirit of the Dance recently at the Wyvern and saw a fabulous production of Joseph a couple of years ago there too. I think it is wrong to say that the Swindon theatre does not attract big names as my daughter has recently seen two big names in the music industry, Tony Hadley and Matt Goss, perform on the Wyvern stage.
I have also seen some fantastic big name comedians appear including Lee Evans and more recently Roy Chubby Brown.
Our venue may not be as big as surrounding theatres but it has some fantastic shows .
