WITH the British Open Golf Championships taking place at Royal St. George's, it was Fovant who turned in a below par performance against a resilient Hamworthy side.
Batting first, the visitors lost five quick wickets, but a stubborn partnership of 59 between Neil Huxter, 63, and Dave Phillips, 9, deprived Fovant of maximum bowling points despite the efforts of John Sealy, 2-16, and Mark Lole, 1-21.
Early Fovant wickets were lost before Mike Thatcher, 62, and Sean White, 24 not out, added 63 runs to secure victory.
