MARLBOROUGH is accepted as being one of Wiltshire's biggest tourist attractions and so what does Kennet District Council want to do? Close its popular Tourist Information Centre of course.
The council wants the existing well-used office in George Lane car park where the tourist buses stop to shut and for a bureau to be opening in the library.
There is also a plan to expand the tourist services at Avebury. Reasons why the Marlborough office should be moved seem to be thin on the ground.
