Ref. 25732-31A Swindon charity worker was at the Buckingham Palace garden party where a man streaked in front of the Queen.

But John Holmes, of Windsor Road, who was rewarded with the trip because of his charity work, said he missed the incident.

"It wasn't me!" said the 70-year-old.

"That wouldn't have been a pretty sight."

The culprit was 17-year-old Barney Keen, from Dorset, who attended the event on Tuesday with his parents.

The teenager ran across the palace lawns shouting "Wahey!" and dropped his trousers and underwear to his ankles as the Queen chatted to guests just 10 yards away.

Onlookers described how he pulled down his boxer shorts before two Beefeaters and two members of the royal family's protection squad tackled him and escorted him through the crowds to a police security tent.

The teenager had reportedly streaked as a £100 bet with his brother, who was also at the event.

Scotland Yard said the youth was given "words of advice" but had not been arrested.

Mr Holmes and his wife Jean, said they were unaware of what had happened at the party until they arrived home.

"It was an excellent day," said Mr Holmes.

"We stood right next to the Duke of Edinburgh and Prince Charles, and close to the Queen.

"We spent a lot of time talking to the Prince.

"The conversations were normal and we talked about family life and his work."

Mr Holmes hired a chauffeured limousine for the day and took his wife and friends to the London Eye and the theatre. "It was a memorable day and the Queen looked radiant."
