MONTHS of campaigning by the boss of a Wilton company and the South Wiltshire Economic Partnership has paid off, with the news that broadband is coming to the town.
Wilton Carpet Factory managing director Peter Le Count and SWEP complained the lack of broadband internet access put rural businesses at a disadvantage. Mr Le Count said it was "holding back business development through ineffective communication and directly affecting employment opportunities in the area".
Now enough people have registered interest for BT to begin work to upgrade the exchange. It is expected to be launched on November 5.
