Ref. 26222-7GENEROUS regulars at The Manor pub in Cheney Manor Road helped raise £2,400 towards an effort by Swindon Children's Gymnastics Society to find their own home.
The nomadic society presently use training facilities at Dorcan School, the Oasis Leisure Centre and a venue in Melksham, but desperately want a place they can call their own.
The fun day on Sunday, which was dubbed a Party in the Car Park, included a pork barbecue, bouncy castle, traditional pub games and karaoke on a stage especially built for the occasion.
Landlady Beverley Neal, 46, said: "The fun day was absolutely brilliant and I've never seen the pub so packed.
"Anything to do with children is great, but this is a really good cause.
"They are really trying to get their own permanent home and it would be great because so much time and effort is spent with these youngsters.
"They're having to ferry them backwards and forwards when they should have their own place.
"I want to thank all the neighbours and friends who put in so much time and money," the publican said.
