ANYONE using music to work in the community will have more opportunities thanks to the University of Bath in Swindon.

Its Music Resource Centre will be launched with a series of workshops, demonstrations and exhibitions and is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about community music.

Community music can be all kinds of music with all kinds of people, varying from singing with elderly people, music technology courses in community centres and music classes for people with learning difficulties.

The Resource Centre will contain information on funding, directories of music contacts, specialist music directories, music for people with disabilities, guides to using arts in health care and education as well as songbooks.

The launch will run from 3.30pm to 6.30pm on October 7 and is free and open to everyone who registers.

To register, contact community music development worker Annelies de Bruine on 01793 328762 or email her at a.debruine@bath.ac.uk.
