I REFER to the Evening Advertiser, Friday, August 8 and the article by Ian Ritchie.
My overall impression having read the article is that Ian Ritchie wants the Ridgeway to become a footpath solely for the use of ramblers and 'singles outdoor clubs'. He is not prepared to tolerate any other use of the Ridgeway. Instead of trying to ban everything with wheels he should be involved with all organisations in trying to protect the Ridgeway while allowing everyone to enjoy it.
No one appreciates the Ridgeway more than trail riders as it enables us to gain access to the few remaining green lanes open to us. Left to Ian Ritchie it will all soon become an overgrown dumping ground.
