I decided to take a walk in the Lawns park and the Lawns is a lovely area in Old Town, perfect for a summer lunchtime picnic.
It has a little lake, plenty of grass and trees and is something of a bonus to those of us who work in Old Town and feel the need to escape the noise and the traffic for a little while.
Sadly, though, I noticed that, yet again, some mindless individuals have also chosen to visit the park.
Strewn down by the terraced walling was a huge amount of litter, plastic bags, food wrappings and cigarette packets and stubs. This was accompanied by at least half a dozen bottles.
I would like to express my pity for the selfish low-life who think it is perfectly acceptable to make such a disgusting display of ignorant behaviour.
Not only do I pity them for creating the eyesore, I would like to maybe suggest to them more useful outlets for their shared braincell.
I assume they collectively used it to think of smashing some of the bottles as well, just in the hope that a child would hurt themselves. I would like to tell them all of these things to their faces but, of course, you can't since this sort of trash normally only creep about at night.
If you are reading this (perhaps I am being a little optimistic in thinking you can actually read at all) then I hope you feel proud of your little selves. I cannot imagine the kind of thinking that goes on in your vacuous heads but I do gain some satisfaction knowing that your private home lives must be conducted within dirt, rubbish and failure. It doesn't take a scientist or a street cleaner to deduce that your own personal futures are as sad and as limited as your intelligence.
