START dates for a kerbside re-cycling trial to be launched in west Wiltshire towns have been announced.
The £1m Rubbish Raiders scheme is bringing the service to 57,500 Wiltshire homes over a two-month period.
The scheme is being introduced by the Wiltshire Waste Partner-ship, which brings together Wiltshire County Council and its constituent district councils.
Homes in Melksham and Trowbridge taking part in the scheme will have collections from October 6 to November 17.
Wiltshire County Council's waste manager Mike Wood, said: "We cannot eliminate rubbish, but with the help of people in Wiltshire we can significantly reduce the amount of material that has to be dumped in landfill sites."
Residents can put the following items in their kerbside boxes which will be delivered free to homes: newspapers, magazines, glass bottles and jars, food and drinks cans, textiles and clean aluminium foil.
The boxes are not designed for plastic bottles, cardboard, linen, and shiny metallic plastic such as crisp packets.
