Ref. 27172A FUNDRAISING evening at a Trowbridge wine bar in aid of the Royal United Hospital's cancer unit had an international flavour.
More than 120 people helped raise £350 for the Bath-based cancer unit during an international evening at Red Or White wine bar on Friday.
The evening was organised by the Trowbridge branch of the Bath Cancer Unit Support Group as they aim to reach their annual target of £10,000.
Jeanne Ingham-Law, secretary, said: "This is the second international evening we have held and because last year's was so successful we decided to repeat it.
"But this year's event was even better and even bigger and many people contributed with foreign food and crafts."
Revellers got the chance to see photographs of the new day care unit at the hospital, which re-cently received a £310,000 contribution from trustees.
Traditional food, wine and crafts were on display from 11 different countries while American and Polish dancers entertained the crowd.
Piper and cancer unit patient Janette Heath launched the evening and accordionist Sue Coppin entertained the diners.
