IT was another year of success at Churchfields School, with results continuing to rise.

Headteacher Steve Flavin declared himself delighted with the school's results.

Hetal Patel gained eight A grades with four at A*, and Sophie Knott hopes to study medicine after scoring six As and one A*.

Terry Yau, 16, from the town centre earned one A*, five As, one B and three Cs. He will now study for his A-levels at New College.

He said: "I want to go to university but I don't know what I would like to do exactly. I will have to see how it goes in my A-levels.

"My parents are delighted, and I'm pleased with my A*s in music and As in maths and science."

Mr Flavin said: "This further demonstrates that parents who choose Churchfields can expect their son or daughter to be successful.

"We are enjoying a period of sustained growth and developing a reputation as a school that provides quality for our community.

"I have appointed a full complement of staff and we have new teachers joining us in September.

"I am confident we will all continue to take the school forward."

Sophie Knott, 16, from Broome Manor, who got one A*, six As and three Bs, wants to study medicine at university.

"I'm really excited now.

"I don't remember how nervous I was last night because I'm so happy now," she said.

"I talked myself into the worst and then the school called and told me and I had got one of the top three sets of results in the school.

"It's a fab school. I have had a brilliant time here."

Hetal Patel, 16, from Lawn, gained four A*s, four As and three Bs. She will now study for A-levels at King Edward's School in Bath.

"Everyone else expected me to do well but I didn't know and I am so proud now," she said.

"My parents are really happy for me. They kept telling me they really wanted to know how I had got on because everyone kept pestering them.

"If you have an interest in the subject then it makes work much easier, but I don't know what I want to do for a career yet, I've not thought that far ahead."
