A Melksham man has been remanded in custody after police found him with drugs worth more than £46,000.

John Pellier, 37, faces jail after he was found with 6,897 ecstasy tablets, 42g of cocaine, 231g of amphetamine sulphate and 15g of cannabis resin.

He was also found to have £1,150 in cash, which was seized by police when they arrested him.

Chris Jervis, prosecuting, told Swindon crown court that police were also investigating his finances with a view to reclaiming proceeds of his crime.

At an earlier hearing Pellier, of The Friars, admitted two counts of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply and two count of possessing class B drugs with intent to supply.

The case was adjourned for reports. Asking for the report Sarah Regan, defending, said: "I know it is unlikely to make a difference to the sentence. However he has no previous convictions."
