WILTSHIRE County Council has appointed Janet Relfe as its new deputy chief executive.
Janet will lead the reorganised Department of Corporate and Library Services.
This department will spearhead the council's Performance and Improvement Programme, including work to make it easier for people to contact the council by telephone, through face-to-face meetings and through the Internet.
She is due to start work at the county council at the beginning of March.
The post of deputy chief executive replaces the current post of director of corporate services.
Janet is currently the strategic manager for planning and transportation at Buckinghamshire County Council where she has been responsible for improving customer services in the transport department. Before that she was the head of legal services at Buckinghamshire.
