ADVERSE weather had a major impact on the North Wilts & District Youth League for the first time, with 16 games postponed in total.

The big game of the day in the under 16 division saw Shaw A meet stablemates Shaw B at Chestnut Springs.

In a close fought game it was the A side who came out on top, winning 2-0 to stay five points clear of nearest rivals Liden Community at the top.

Liden were comfortable 11-1 winners over Swindon Badgers, having dropped points to them only a fortnight ago.

Stratton Juniors moved up two places in the table thanks to a comfortable 10-1 win at lowly Fairford, who remain winless.

Cirencester Juniors remain in touch after a 6-1 home win over Malmesbury.

Under 15

Just two games were played in the Under 15 Division with leaders Stratton Juniors continuing their march towards the title thanks to a 4-1 home win over Ferndale Rodbourne their seventh win in seven games.

Liden Community won 3-0 at Wootton Bassett Town to move above Shaw into second.

Under 14

Only two games survived in Division One as Stratton Juniors and Greenmeadow both consolidated their positions at the top of the table.

Leaders Stratton were 4-0 winners at home against Eastville Boys while Greenmeadow won 5-1 at Wroughton.

In Division Two, Walcot Wanderers were 7-1 winners at Blunsdon Colts.

Walcot were 5-0 up at half time with a hat-trick from Ziggy Wardale and one each for Nick Mitchell and Azmol Ali. James Stares added a brace in the second half.

Under 13

Only one game was completed in Division 1 with Brunel Boys moving into third courtesy of a 5-2 home win over Old Town United.

Dominic Burtenshaw scored a hat-trick, with Dane Tregoning and Wade Dixon also on target.

The match between Shrivenham & Watchfield and Westlea Wanderers was abandoned due to the weather.

There were goals galore in Division 2 with the top three all enjoying big wins. Fairford stay nine points clear thanks to an 11-1 home win over Wroughton.

Second-placed Shaw remain in touch following a 9-1 home win over Wootton Bassett Town, Brett Carr scoring Bassett's consolation goal.

Devizes stay third after an 8-3 win at Ferndale Rodbourne. Both Shaw and Devizes have two games in hand on Fairford.

Under 12

Amesbury Sports and Lydiard Youth continue to match each other stride for stride in Division 1 with seven wins from seven games.

Lydiard defeated Ferndale Rodbourne Pumas 5-1, Jordan McGovern scoring the Ferndale consolation goal.

It was tight game at Liden, where Wootton Bassett came away with maximum points thanks to a goal five minutes from time from James Tasker. Martyn Plaistow had twice put Bassett in front but Liden had equalised twice before Tasker struck.

The top four in Division 2 were all successful with joint leaders Stratton Juniors winning 2-0 at Marlborough, while Stratton Youth remain level on points thanks to a comfortable 12-0 win at bottom of the table Minety.

Wroughton stay third courtesy of a 3-2 home win over Greenmeadow and fourth-placed Old Town United Cubs are still just one point off the top thanks to a 6-0 home win over Highworth Juniors.

Under 11

Central Division leaders Croft had their fixture postponed but second-placed Greenmeadow were unable to capitalise, losing 5-2 at home to Brunel Boys.

Shaw continue to lead the way in the West Division thanks to a 13-1 win at Highworth Strikers.

Wroughton remain on their shirt tails thanks to a 4-1 away win at Wootton Bassett.

Blunsdon Colts continue to dominate the North Division, maintaining their 100 per cent record with a 7-2 win over Fairford.

Under 10

Croft Juniors maintained their perfect record for the season in the Central Division with a 4-2 win at Old Town.

Penhill Knights are level on points having played two more games, after winning 4-2 at Ferndale Rodbourne Tigers.

Wootton Bassett secured their first win of the season in the West Division, defeating bottom side Shaw 2-0.

Ferndale Rodbourne Pumas lead the way, bouncing back from last week's shock cup loss to defeat third-placed Ramsbury 3-1.

Highworth Juniors remain six points clear at the top of the North Division thanks to an easy 13-0 win over Cricklade Youth.

Purton moved into second place following an excellent 2-1 home win over Fairford A.

Under 9

Only Robins from the top four were in action in the Central Division and they went down to their first defeat of the season, losing 1-2 at home against Croft Juniors.

The West Division's top two met at Lainesmead School and it was Wootton Bassett Town who came out on top, Nick Buckle's powerful drive proving the difference.

Malmesbury moved into third place following a 6-2 win at Shaw, William Picter (2), Matthew Fusco (2), Raich Reeves-Bassett and William Maslin the scorers for Malmesbury.
