CALNE-BASED North Star B were on the receiving end in Division Four of the Vanitec Chippenham & District Sunday League as FC Bradford took advantage of their rivals' inactivity to leap into second spot.

The long-awaited contest between Kings Arms (Trowbridge) was called off because of a waterlogged pitch and third-placed Bradford capitalised with a commanding 7-1 victory.

Jason Harford bagged four, Mike Embleton, Steve Bryant and a bizarre own goal from Dave Lymath making up the seven as Darren Lymath's strike proved little consolation.

Elsewhere, Fascia Graphics lost 1-0 to Pack Horse Rangers and White Horse FC defeated Rowde 6-2, Lee Morgan and Phillip Crew's goals for Rowde counting for nothing as Chris Sims (2), Paul Harvey, Mike Harding, Mark Pugh and Andy Harding won it for the Horse.

KSM saw off the Plough 4-1, Kevin Henderson opened the scoring, Phil Watts, Mark Bolton and Andy Strange also netting as the Plough's Pete Collier missed a penalty as teammate Craig Ryder scored.

Bear Casuals led 2-0 against Old Road Tavern, thanks to a double from Chris Bishop but Tavern hit back in style to win 8-3.

A Gavin Aplin treble, Rick Lovenburry, Pete Smith twice, John Chivers and Neil Raynon made up their tally as Lee Jackson headed the Bear's third.

PREMIER DIVISION

The top of the table battle between Box Rovers and Sherston Town was postponed as Sherston had eight men playing for Malmesbury Town in the Arthur Shipway Cup.

Terry's FC made it five wins on the trot with a 2-0 victory against West Lavington, Matthew Arnold and Richard Clarke scoring.

Winsley's ninth loss of the campaign leaves them pointless and rock bottom, local rivals Dog & Fox Ashley turning them over 7-0.

Mark Gerrish, Steve Roddy (3), Dan Cottrell, Steve Latham and Ricky Trott scored the goals.

Ten-man Calne Town lost 4-0 against Westbury Rangers A, for whom Marc Lanfear (3) and Sam Tucker netted.

Bradford News defeated All Cannings FC 5-2 to move into the top half of the table.

Debutant Andy Bennett (2), Russell Francis (2) and Jake Davison ensured victory as Richard Holman and Tony Greenidge replied.

Champions The Duke Corsham returned to winning ways after seeing off Hullavington, who took the lead through Craig Samuels, 3-1.

Dave Kilmurray twice and youngster Chris Andrews sealed the win.

DIVISION ONE

Maud Heath Sports continue to lead as their 4-1 victory against Chippenham Sports & Social Clubmade it eight wins from eight.

Ben Devon (2), Simon Hillier and Dave Beal goals made up Maud Heath's quartet with Darren Whiston replying.

Work commitments forced Chippenham Police into fielding a weakened team against a superior Biddestone Social side, who ran out 7-0 winners with goals from new signing signing Matt Pratley (4), Jamie Lyons, Paul Poiner and Eddie Drury.

Semington Rovers' title hopes are slipping away after a third defeat of the season, 5-2 to Horse & Groom.

James Eatough struck to level for Rovers after Paul Aland had put the Horse in front. Paul Bendell (2), Paul Daly and Graham Hunter were also on target with Dan Phillips scoring Rovers' second.

The George Lacock hit back from 3-1 down to claim a thrilling 4-3 win over Colerne FC, Andy Harker (2) and Richard Smart scoring for Colerne.

But Richard Nash, Neil Parrish and Tim Culling and Andy Joad won it for the George.

Ten-man Trowbridge Harriers held on for a 3-3 draw with West End Wanderers, John Baker twice and James Dowd netting with Tom Staddon, Kai Miller and James Taylor scoring for Wanderers, who also had a Paul Edwards penalty saved.

Atworth United and Wingfield served up a seven-goal thriller which the latter won 4-3, with goals from Guy Rowley and Robbie Simmonds, who also missed a penalty, an own goal and Lee Frisby.

Dan Adams scored a hat-trick for Atworth.

DIVISION TWO

Victories for the three leading clubs in the Second Division means that Corsham Centre, North Star A and North Bradley are starting to pull away from the chasing pack.

Corsham Centre overcame Biddestone Arms to consolidate top spot as James Lye and Craig Gingell both hit doubles in a 4-0 win.

North Star A brushed aside tSutton Benger 8-1 win to stay second.

Mike Palfrey, Mark Sharrett and Tommy Ludford scored two each with Stuart Riely and Paul Taylor adding the others. Paul Watson was Benger's scorer.

North Bradley dented Holt's promotion hopes with a 4-2 win on a soggy pitch.

Sloppy defending led to Tom Pang giving Holt the lead, but Craig Brown, Jack Heard, Spencer Willmott and substitute Mark Burrell won it before Dave Greenwood hit a late consolation.

Second half goals from Tim Knight and Royston Aust earned Spencer Sports a 2-0 victory over Steeple Ashton.

Goals from Sean Harvey (penalty), Steve Bruce and Martin Hemmens gave Blue Circle Saints both points from their 3-2 win over Somerford, for whom Gavin Klukowski and veteran Richard Chandler netted.

DIVISION THREE

Potterne FC and Hare & Hounds are leading the pack chasing Four Seasons and second placed Parsons Nose.

Hare & Hounds followed up last week's 2-0 win over Corsham Park Rangers with a 5-1 thumping this time.

Tim Wootton scored two and set up the others for Gary Wootton, Leigh Wells and Nathan Cookafter Gordon Willshire had put Rangers a goal up.

Potterne FC heaped more misery on Westbury Rangers B, a 3-0 win over Rangers meaning last term's Division Four winners have lost six of their eight games to date.

Ben Giles and two from Johnny Emm saw Potterne home.

The Melksham derby between Parsons Nose and Pig & Whistle United went the way of the Nose 3-2.

Wayne Bailey, a Rob Bruce own goal and Darren Whiting scored, with Jeff Hale and Danny Cole hitting back.

Leaders Four Seasons thumped Sir Audley's Arms 7-1, Marcus Young scoring three, Paul Maddox, Kevin Banks, Steve Hunt and an own goal making up the tally.
