AGE Concern Energy Services is reassuring its customers that it will not be putting up its gas and electricity prices this winter.
The announcement comes at a time when energy providers are facing increasing pressure to raise their energy tariffs.
Costs of providing energy have gone up by a quarter but Age Concern is delighted that its customers will not be affected by price increases this winter pricing will not be reviewed until the Spring.
With the average household energy bill increasing by 60 per cent over the winter months, Age Concern knows how heating the home can put a financial strain on many older people who are on a limited income. That is why the charity felt it was so important to delay any pricing review until the cold weather has passed.
Mike Abrey-Bugg, General Manager of Age Concern Energy Services said: "While price rises across the industry appear inevitable, we at Age Concern felt it was crucial to try and protect our customers as much as possible over the winter months and ensure that they could still afford essential heating in their homes."
