IN response to G Scott and J Adams (November 19) the only reason that the EU can tell us to do anything is due to the idiots in Parliament giving away power and sovereignty without consulting the electorate.
Let's not swallow the codswallop about ID cards helping to reduce crime, only a zero tolerance approach, backed up with a high police presence on the streets will achieve that.
Cut down police paperwork so they have more time to patrol our streets. ID cards will solve nothing and could be forged anyway.
As far as I can see, since Mr Blunkett will expect us to pay for these cards, it is just another way for the government to tax us by stealth.
Why can't this greedy government just be honest and tell us they would tax us for the air we breathe if they could get away with it?
