SWINDON CANCER APPEAL: TIME is running out to place a bid for a top-notch quad bike and raise money for the Swindon Cancer Appeal.

The yellow Suzuki LTA50K4 was originally donated by Swindon motorcycle dealers George White for the Advertiser's charity sporting dinner with Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp earlier this month. Although it went under the hammer then for £1,000, the winner, who has asked to remain anonymous, generously donated it back for re-auction, thus meaning even more money can be raised for the appeal. Bids are now being accepted on the internet, and the deadline is Friday at midday. The bike, which is being stored at George White in Manchester Road, is worth more than £1,000.

The sporting dinner raised £5,000 for the Swindon Cancer Appeal, which was launched in March and aims to make £600,000 for Macmillan Nurses.

The cash will pay for two specialist nurses at the Great Western Hospital.

The sporting dinner helped push the total past the £200,000 mark this month.
