DEVELOPERS have been told to re-think plans for a sheltered housing complex in Highworth.
The committee rejected plans to build 50 sheltered housing apartments and eight affordable flats on the site of the former Vorda Works in Brewery Street.
Members agreed with an officer's report, which concluded that the development, by Bristol-based McCarthy and Stone, was out of character with the town.
Coun Lisa Hawkes (Con, Highworth), who chairs the committee, said: "It would be okay in many places, but not Highworth. It is too large. Go and renegotiate the plans."
